It all started with a letter and a ring
Session 8-Awoken Artifacts and the Sleeping Ork
As a reward for their continued success, the lady in crimson met with the party and thanked them in person. She also offered to answer any three questions, so long as she was at liberty to answer them. The first question that was agreed upon was about why she wanted to bring back Eden. She answered by saying that it would bring Eternal Happiness to all people. There would be no sickness, disaster, or famine. The second question was about the nature of the Organization. She responded by saying that it was created to be a collaboration between powerful people to aid in their mutual success. The final question was about the major obstacles to the plans of the Organization. This she answered by clarifying that the Organization does not have any particular plan, that each member brings their own personal goals and uses the resources available to accomplish them. The efforts to bring back the state of Eden is the doing of the Founder. After answering these questions, she directs the party to the city of Rem Gomar in the southern Leram Empire. She also encouraged the party to stop in at the house of one of the Organization’s scholars to ask about his work. She said his research could be useful to them.
Upon arriving at the house of Ungvar the Tired, their knocks were greeted with the sounds of snores from within. After a bit more knocking and a fair bit of shouting, Ungvar opens the door. Upon seeing the rings he invites them inside. He tells them about his research into the recent phenomenon of “Awakened artifacts” such as Taka’s longbow and Murthrug’s hide armor. After explaining, he also offers to attempt to awaken the rings that each of them wears. Taka’s ring responds to his personal loss. Murthrug’s ring responds to his connection to his mantis. Sam’s ring responds to his ideals of justice. Magnus’s ring responds to the ideal of charity. Halnas’’s ring responds to curiosity. After the long and quite uncomfortable experience, the party sets off with their newly magicked rings.
The city of Rem Gomar greets them with thick crowds in gaudy clothing, street performers, and the heavy stench of four hundred thousand people. After some loose investigation, the party hears of a mutilated corpse that was found. It sounds that it was so badly mangled that no one has been able to identify the body. Was this what they were sent here to look into?
